Watching TV series is one of the best ways of entertainment. Being a movie lover is one thing, but being a TV show freak is one of the best feelings one can ever get. I have watched More than 1000 movies in my life, but once they end, the charisma of characters ends with them; it’s only around 2 hours of excitement & fun. What TV series offers is a weekly, yearly, or even sometimes multi-year ride to a whole new world that fascinates everyone. That is why TV series are getting more hype than movies nowadays. They have become a boon for digital media platforms like Netflix, HBO, and Amazon Prime, to name a few. Also, since most of the youth can’t wait for weeks or months to watch the next episode of their favorite TV series, most platforms are offering binge-watching options so that viewers can watch the shorter TV series in a day & get over their anxiety.
Everyone loves to watch TV series, but watching the first one is always difficult, given the fact that there would always be excuses like how it would be like, how to spare time for them. There are always loads of excuses, but being a good TV series freak, I would like to suggest the best TV series I have watched over the years, which everyone who wishes to start watching must watch.

1. Breaking Bad
“G.O.A.T”- For me, Breaking Bad is the greatest of all time. It’s been a while since I watched this TV series, but it still ranks at the very top in my list of Best TV Series of all time. Breaking Bad, as the name suggests, is a story of going wild or bad. The main characters of the series, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, are two of the best-written characters ever in TV or movie history. The transformation of the character Walter White( Bryan Cranston) from a chemistry teacher to drug overlord, with the supporting performance of Jesse Pinkman(Aaron Paul), is what keeps us glued to our seats. This is the most Binge-Watched TV Show Ever just because of the great story, Scriptwriting & character development. So if you are planning to start watching a TV series, you should start with Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad. This series also comes on the list of the top 10 web series in the world.

2. Game Of Thrones
Game of Thrones is the most hyped TV series when we talk about the best TV series to watch. This 8-season-long TV series revolves around the seven kingdoms and the conquest to rule them. Multiple stories running at the same time to reach one destination. This TV series has everything that one can look for: drama, action, mystery, love, sex, and even zombies(white walkers in this case). This series is an adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s Novel A Song of Ice and Fire with certain changes in plot & characters.
This 73-episode saga takes viewers to a whole new level. By the end of the first season, viewers get to know what they are anticipating, quite the opposite of what might happen. No predictions can be made about the plot if you are watching it for the first time and don’t have a clue what this is about. I, myself, have been a big fan of this epic saga, which is why I have watched it 3 times till now. The only reason why it ranks number 2 on my list of Best TV Series of all time is the fact that they ended it, which was a real blow to the fans who were waiting for each week & waited to watch the ending for 8 years & got something which they were ready for. Still GOT would be an all-time recommendation to everyone looking for suggestions.

3. The Wire
The Wire, to this day, is a classic example of how exactly to tell a story without ruining the essence of creativity. The show revolves around a story of the city of Baltimore(Maryland)’s police department’s conquest of the Drug Mafia & other corrupt institutions. The Central character of Jimmy McNulty helps fight the city against crime & corruption with the help of wiretapping in a time when it was quite a new thing. All the characters are beautifully written and performed. Kudos to the writer, director & producers for giving us such a fabulous TV series, which ranks at least in the top 10 of all the rankings done for best TV series of All Time.

4. Stranger Things
This Netflix hit series is the newest addition to my series. Stranger Things is a science fiction, horror drama focused on a group of kids who end up meeting with Eleven, another kid with special abilities ( telepathy, Supernatural powers). Stranger Things, as the name suggests, brings a whole new aspect of stranger things that might happen in the world due to the wrongdoings of science. Stranger Things is beautifully directed & all characters bring their best on the screen. The way this TV series is scripted brings a whole new perspective of supernatural things, other than what one can see in other TV series or movies.
Recently, Netflix announced Season 4 for Stranger Things, from which I have high expectations & which would also show how things would turn after the death of one of the major characters. So if you are planning to watch something that you can keep up to stranger things is for you, as you can binge-watch 3 seasons & get ready for the 4th season before it premieres.

5. House of Cards
For me, House of Cards is always the one series that shows one can achieve anything by hook or crook. This political thriller revolves around the central characters of Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey & his wife Claire Underwood (Robin Wright). Frank Underwood uses all his methods to reach the most desired thing he wants in the world, the President’s Chair. The story unfolds all the dirty secrets of politicians & to what extent they might go to get power. This is a well-scripted show that allows viewers to enjoy a great performance by Kevin Spacey till the time he was in the series before his departure due to sexual misconduct allegations in 2017. This show is a must for all the new TV series viewers who would love to learn about politics.

6.Chernobyl
This is a miniseries produced by HBO & Sky UK in the year 2019. This is one of the highest-rated TV series of all, and even supersedes Breaking Bad in terms of IMDB ratings at the moment. Chornobyl narrates the real story of the 1986 nuclear plant disaster, which occurred in the USSR. It is a sort of documentary which shows how all that happened, who was actually at fault, what was done to cover it up & also shows the stories of people who lost their lives saving others’ lives. This is perfectly directed & the characters have played their part beautifully. Though the series is quite short, the characters & story leave an everlasting impact after one is done watching this. Many would find it strange why I rank down the list, but my reason for this would be simple: it was a mini-series that couldn’t take the hype to the next level. Apart from this, it is a perfect series and could be a perfect platform for people looking to give TV series a start.

7. Prison Break
This is one of the very first shows I watched in my journey as a TV series enthusiast. Prison Break is a story of a loving & caring brother who went to great lengths to save his brother, who is wrongly convicted in a political murder conspiracy. This first season of the series is probably the best first season of any TV show in history, as the concept, detailing of the plot are way too perfect. The show might seem to be a bit stretched after season 2, but it is still a must-watch TV show because of the great level of hard work & detailing put in by the creative team & writer. From a viewer’s point of view, it is truly amazing. It used to rank higher in the IMDB Ranking, but due to too many dead people coming back & the whole series coming to life in 2017, its popularity dropped. I have still not watched season 5 of this series, so I would not recommend people to watch the 5th installment of this series yet. Still, even for 4 seasons, it is a must-watch TV series

8. Dexter
Dexter is an antihero saga, about the story of a socially awkward forensic technician who has a psychic problem of being attracted to blood, which he turns to his advantage by becoming a vigilante serial killer. Dexter Morgan is the name of the guy, who is played by Michael C. Hall, who has done a tremendous job as a killer; one can literally see his eyes & see the lust for blood in them. The Character of Dexter Morgan is quite intriguing as it keeps viewers looking for more. Viewers want to know more about him, what he is going to do next after each episode of the series. This Series’s best part is the struggle of Dexter Morgan to keep up the parallel lives together by living with the code. None of the characters in TV show history who have been a killer has been so perfect & loved by the audience. The Character makes it a must-watch.

9. How I Met Your Mother
This TV series is a perfect example of how the characters of a TV series or movies can be bigger than the series itself. The Major characters of How I Met Your Mother, Ted Mosby, Barney Stinson, Robin, Lilly & Marshall are just too great. I guess this was one of the reasons I stuck to this TV series for so long.
The ending might not be good, but still this was one of the best TV series I have watched till now may due to the fact that this was the first series I started watching. I would recommend this TV series to everyone who does not want to binge-watch but wants to enjoy good comedy at times.

10- White Collar
White Collar is Fun. This show revolves around Neal Caffrey, who is a con caught by FBI Agent Peter Burke, who strikes a deal with Peter to become a consultant for the FBI. Their adventures in fighting different sorts of crimes & running a parallel main storyline are quite interesting. This show brings a whole new life to crime drama with the great story & tricks of Neal Caffrey, who actually steals the show with his looks & charms. Mozzie is one of the characters to look out for because he adds a great sense of humor to the series. This show is for everyone who is up for a laugh, a cry & emotional ride. That is why it makes my list of best TV series to watch, beating a lot of other TV series that might be better, but not what White Collar is.
